COMPOSITION Each hard gelatin capsule contains: Ferrous Glycine Sulphate - 300 mg. Folic Acid - BP 1000 mcg. Vitamin B 12 - BP 10 mcg. Zinc Sulphate Monohydrate - BP 25 mg. Copper Sulphate Pentahydrate - BP 0.2 mg. Manganese Sulphate - BP 1 mg. Excipients q.s

PHARMACOLOGICAL CLASSIFICATION: Hematinic with Folic Acid, Vitamin B 12, Zinc, Copper, Manganese Capsules. 

INDICATIONS: For prophylaxis during pregnancy, a combination of iron and folic acid is usually recommended. As a therapeutic nutritional adjunct in convalescence from surgery, e.g., where nutritional intake continues to be inadequate. As a therapeutic nutritional adjunct for patients on special or restricted diets, e.g., in renal diets and where several food groups are restricted in therapeutic weight reducing diets. As a therapeutic nutritional adjunct where food intolerance exists, e.g., exclusion diets. As an adjunct in synthetic diets, e.g., in phenylketonuria, galactosemia and ketogenic diets. 

CONTRA INDICATIONS: Known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients of the product. Paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria. 

Hemosiderosis, haemochromatosis. 

WARNINGS: Some post-gastrectomy patients show poor absorption of iron. Care is required when treating patients with iron deficiency anemia who have treated or controlled peptic ulceration. 

DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS FOR USE: One capsule daily or as directed by the Physician. DIETARY SUPPLEMENT 

SIDE EFFECTS: Constipation black or dark-colored stools, unusual or unpleasant taste in your mouth. 

INTERACTIONS: Iron reduces the absorption of penicillamine, bisphosphonates, ciprofloxacin, entacapone, levodopa, levofloxacin, levothyroxine (thyroxine) (give at least 2 hours apart), moxifloxacin, mycophenolate, norfloxacin, ofloxacin, zinc. Absorption of both iron and antibiotic may be reduced if FECARE is given with tetracycline. 

OVER DOSAGE: No cases of overdosage due to FECARE therapy have been reported. Acute overdosage of oral iron requires emergency treatment. In young children, 200 to 250mg/kg of body weight of Ferrous glycine sulphate is considered to be extremely dangerous.
